The reading
Western Australia host New South Wales in Perth in Australia's domestic One-Day Cup, starting at 12:30 PM IST. Domestic one-day cricket is where a lot of future internationals play, and the stars rarely get asked about it, so CrikTrik reads it.
The reading splits. Western Australia take the toss, which CrikTrik reads from the two captains' full names. New South Wales take the match, read from the team names in full and in short form. That means the visiting side is the cosmic pick for the result, even though the home captain gets the nod at the coin flip.
The planets for Saturday 24 October are Venus, because 24 reduces to 6, and Saturn, lord of Saturday. In CrikTrik's scoring each name's planet is compared with both: same planet scores two, a friend scores one, neutral scores nothing and an enemy loses one. New South Wales' names produced the higher total.
State sides are long names with short forms that read very differently, which is why both versions are scored. Whatever happens in Perth, the result will be logged here and on the track record, hit or miss.
